Anne Nowak’s artistic practice exists where reality and imagination merge — in the space between the visible and the invisible. Drawn to existential themes such as impermanence, light and shadow, life and death, her work seeks to give form to what cannot be named.

Working across painting, sculpture, cyanotype, and large-scale installations, Nowak experiments with materials to translate inner landscapes into physical form. Inspired by the cosmos, the sea, spiritual mythology and nature, she creates atmospheric works that feel like portals — inviting the viewer to slow down, reflect and reconnect with presence.

Nowak is committed to moving her practice toward greater sustainability. She increasingly incorporates recycled, reclaimed and natural materials, aiming to reduce environmental impact while acknowledging that the transition is ongoing and part of an evolving artistic journey.

Her work has been exhibited internationally — including in New York, Beijing and Warsaw — and she has created large-scale commissions for Marriott Copenhagen, Roskilde Festival and Hotel de Paris. Upcoming projects include a major solo exhibition at Grønbechs Gård (2026), a collaboration with Matters Architects creating an installation for a care center, and the opening of her own gallery.

Our studio has two large street-facing display windows, perfect for showcasing your products, art or design directly to the many people passing by every day. Who is this space perfect for? If you create products and would like to work and sell from the same space, this is for you. You might be a fashion designer, architect, jewelry maker, ceramicist, visual artist, or something entirely different. If creativity drives you, you will fit right in. Who are we? Studio 42 consists of six co-owners. I’m deeply honoured to have been part of a meaningful art project at Fenrishus — a residential home for children with disabilities and their families — realised through @artboost and curated by @signesylvester Together with artist and photographer @mettecolberg Colberg and design duo @hvasshannibal, we created a series of site-specific installations that bring light, calm and imagination into the daily life of the house. My work Mirages reflects the contrasts that define life at Fenrishus — between day and night, light and darkness, loss and hope. The mirrored moons catch the sunlight by day and glow softly at night, inviting both playfulness and contemplation. It has been deeply moving to see how art can bring comfort and joy, especially to the families, relatives and staff who are part of this very special place. As one mother shared: “There are definitely some of the works which appeal to the siblings who visit Fenrishus. The interplay of light and reflection creates a mesmerizing, almost hypnotic experience. Chakra Mirrors, are designed for energy healing, with crystals meticulously arranged to align with the body’s chakras. Stand in front of one, and feel renewed. This time Kunstsalonen becomes the Milanovej Salon, when we move in with @designerkristinadam, who lives together with her husband and two children in a house on Amager. Kristina Dam is the owner of Kristina Dam Studio, which is especially known for its furniture designs. In recent years Kristina has also worked with her own art and expanded her creative practice. For this edition of Kunstsalonen, we will move in with works by around 20 artists, and the art will be installed in the personal and intimate surroundings of Kristina’s home. Så glad og stolt over at skulle medvirke i @kunstsalonencom på Milanovej hos @designerkristinadam Kunstsalonen skriver: Vi glæder os helt vildt til at præsentere en ny serie håndlavede, vægmonterede lysskulpturer, der forvandler genbrugsplast til kunstværker. I hænderne på @AnneNowak bliver dét, der starter som kasseret plastik, til noget helt nyt: lysende, taktile skulpturer. Overfladen skifter mellem at ligne tekstil, glas eller metal – alt efter lys og vinkel – og udfordrer vores opfattelse af materiale og funktion. Hvert værk er skabt gennem en unik proces med varmes­tøbning, skulpturering og håndspraymaling – en blanding af industriel teknik og traditionelt håndværk. Resultatet er modulære objekter, der både fungerer som kunstgenstande og funktionel belysning – perfekte til hjem, gallerier og offentlige rum.
